Privacy Policy

Effective August 21, 2026 · Last updated August 21, 2026

CutFarmer ("the app", "we") is a macOS desktop application that turns long-form video into short vertical clips and, when you choose to connect an account, publishes those clips to platforms such as TikTok and YouTube on your behalf.

CutFarmer runs entirely on your own computer. There is no CutFarmer account, no CutFarmer server that stores your data, and no analytics or tracking in the app. Video files, transcripts, edit decisions, access tokens and performance metrics are all written to your own disk.

1. Information we process

CategoryWhat it isWhere it goes
Your video content Source videos you import and the clips CutFarmer renders from them. Stored on your computer. Uploaded to a platform only when you instruct the app to publish a specific clip.
Platform access tokens OAuth access and refresh tokens issued by a platform when you connect an account. Written to a configuration file in your home directory. Never transmitted anywhere except back to the platform that issued them.
Basic profile information For TikTok, via the user.info.basic scope: your display name, avatar and open ID, plus the creator settings TikTok requires us to read before posting (privacy options, interaction settings, and any posting limits on your account). Held in memory to show you which account you are posting to and to build a compliant post request. Not stored beyond the session and never shared.
Post results The identifier and status a platform returns for a clip CutFarmer published for you. Stored in a local database on your computer so the app knows what it has already posted.

2. How we use TikTok data

CutFarmer requests only the TikTok scopes it actually exercises:

CutFarmer does not request permission to read your TikTok video library, your followers, your messages, or any other person's data. It never posts without an explicit action by you, and it never posts to an account other than the one you connected.

3. What we do not do

4. Third parties

The only third parties involved are the platforms you deliberately connect (for example TikTok or YouTube) and, when you publish, the transport used to hand your video file to that platform. Data sent to a platform is governed by that platform's own privacy policy — see the TikTok Privacy Policy. CutFarmer also uses your operating system's networking and, if you enable it, your own cloud storage credentials; in both cases the data goes only where you directed it.

5. Retention and deletion

Because everything is local, you control retention completely:

If you believe we hold data about you and want it removed, email us and we will respond within 30 days — though in practice the answer is almost always that the data never left your machine.

6. Security

Tokens are stored in a file readable only by your user account, with restrictive file permissions. All communication with platform APIs uses HTTPS. Because there is no central server, there is no central store of user credentials to breach.

7. Children

CutFarmer is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13, or under the minimum age required by the platforms you connect. We do not knowingly process data from children.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. As described above, CutFarmer holds your data only on your own device, so you can exercise all of these directly. For anything you cannot do yourself, contact us at the address below.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where the change affects how connected accounts are used, note it in the app's changelog. The current version always lives at this URL.
